ANALOG COMPUTERS

An analog computer (spelled analogue in British English) is a form of computer that uses electrical[1], mechanical or hydraulic phenomena to model the problem being solved. More generally an analog computer uses one kind of physical quantity to represent the behavior of another physical system, or mathematical function

A computer that stores data in terms of digits (numbers) and proceeds in discrete steps from one state to the next. The states of a digital computer typically involve binary digits which may take the form of the presence or absence of magnetic markers in a storage medium (see memory), on-off switches or relays. In digital computers, even letters, words and whole texts are represented digitally. Unlike analog computers, digital computers can only approximate a continuum by assigning large numbers of digits to a state description and by proceeding in arbitrarily small steps

Hybrid computers are computers that comprise features of analog computers and digital computers. The digital component normally serves as the controller and provides logical operations, while the analog component normally serves as a solver of differential equations.

2. IBM Compatible
Many companies make clones of IBM's personal computer which are often called compatible. IBM compatible can use hardware and software designed for the IBM PC. The internal architecture of IBM compatible is similar to IBM PC. They are also called duplicate computer to IBM PC. Eg. EPSON, ACER,etc.

3. Apple/Macintosh
Apple Macintosh Company is one of the largest personal computer manufacturer located in Coupetino, California established by stove jobs and Steve Woznials on first April 1976. The internal architecture of these computers are totally different from that of IBM. They have their own software. Apple Macintosh were among the first mirco produced by this company. Later on, Apple Computer manufactured a new brand of Computer popularly known as Macintosh in 1984. Macintosh become notable for popularising the GUI (Graphical User Interface). The operating system produced by Apple Company for their Macintosh is called MAC OS. Most of the Desktop publishing houses in Nepal use these computer.
